Sector: Healthcare
Dates: Ongoing Recruitment

Job Details and Description:

Established in 1992, Active Assistance provides the very best live-in care services for physically disabled people, specialising in supporting those with a high level Spinal Cord Injury.

If you would like to start a career in care work, have already worked as a carer or want to have a worthwhile job during a gap year, consider joining our agency. This is a demanding but extremely rewarding position

Our Clients are people who have a severe physical disability. Most have a Spinal Injury but some have a progressive neurological condition such as Muscular Dystrophy or Multiple Sclerosis. They want to live independently in their own homes and need help to complete everyday tasks.

PAs work under the direction of our Clients. You will live with the Client for 2 to 3 weeks at a time, helping them with everyday tasks such as getting in and out of bed, washing & toileting, shopping & cooking. PAs also take our Clients to work, to social events and even on holiday!

All PAs receive Induction Training as our dedicated residential training facility in Sevenoaks, Kent. The programme lasts 4 days and must be successfully completed before you start work.

To work for Active Assistance, applicants MUST meet the following criteria:

-Hold a full UK/EC or International driving licence
-Be aged 21 or over (ideally 25+)
-If you are not a UK or EC resident then you must have a valid work visa

A typical assignment lasts 2 to 3 weeks and involves living with the client, which is then followed by time off.
