HGV Class 1 Driver – Ongoing Container Work | Southampton
Top Tier Recruitment is recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers for a well-established logistics company based in Southampton.

The Role
As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for:
* Collecting containers from Southampton Port
* Delivering containers safely to customer sites across the UK
* Returning to the depot to collect and load the following day’s container
* Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects
* Working closely with transport planners to ensure deliveries run smoothly
* Providing excellent customer service at delivery and collection points
* Completing all paperwork accurately and complying with Drivers’ Hours Regulations
* Representing the company professionally at all times
Typical shifts are between 10 and 14 hours, starting at 06:00, Monday to Friday.
What We’re Looking For
To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you’ll need:
* Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) Driving Licence
* Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
* Digital Tachograph Card
* At least 12 months’ HGV Class 1 driving experience
* Maximum of 3 penalty points
* Good understanding of Drivers’ Hours and Working Time Regulations
* Strong communication and customer service skills
* A professional, reliable and safety-focused approach
Desirable Experience
* Previous container driving experience
* Southampton Port Card (advantageous but not essential)
Pay & Benefits
