Functional Skills Tutor – Wrexham
Prospero Teaching are recruiting experienced Functional Skills Tutors to support learners across Wrexham!
The Opportunity
We are looking for adaptable tutors to provide personalised 1:1 tuition to learners working towards their Functional Skills qualifications.
The successful candidate will support students in developing their core skills, identifying gaps in their knowledge and working towards their individual educational goals.
We're interested in hearing from tutors with experience across Functional Skills English and/or Maths.
Position Details:
Location: Wrexham
Position: Functional Skills Tutor
Hours: 5-15 hours per week
Start Date: September 2026
Duration: Ongoing
Experience, Training and Qualifications:
Experience delivering Functional Skills
Strong subject knowledge in English and/or Maths
Previous teaching or tutoring experience
Experience supporting learners with gaps in education is advantageous
QTS, PGCE or equivalent desirable
Ability to adapt sessions to different abilities
To be eligible for this role, you must:
Hold the Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service or be willing to process a new application
Provide two professional references
