Comprehensive Clinical Responsibilities
As a Band 5 Registered General Nurse representing Evolve Staffing Ltd. within a major Stoke-on-Trent NHS hospital, you will assume full clinical accountability for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of patient care on general inpatient wards. Your core duties will encompass:

Holistic Patient Assessment & Care Delivery: Spearheading the front-line delivery of person-centered, evidence-based nursing care to acutely ill adult patients, strictly adhering to the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Professional Conduct and hospital clinical governance policies.

Advanced Clinical Interventions & Observations: Undertaking meticulous vital sign monitoring utilizing National Early Warning Score (NEWS2) protocols, executing safe medication administration (including IV drugs, controlled drugs, and fluid management), managing complex wound care, and performing comprehensive post-operative or acute medical interventions.

Care Planning & Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Designing, implementing, and regularly reviewing individualized patient care pathways in close coordination with a diverse Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), including consultant physicians, specialist nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and discharge coordinators.

Clinical Governance & Documentation: Maintaining flawless, contemporaneous, and accurate electronic health records (EHR/EPR systems) to ensure absolute compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards, clinical audit requirements, and patient confidentiality guidelines.

Acute Ward Leadership & Mentoring: Acting as a supportive clinical role model, providing professional guidance, supervision, and task delegation to junior staff nurses, nursing associates, student nurses, and Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to cultivate a safe, productive, and harmonious ward atmosphere.

Patient Safety & Escalation: Promptly recognizing and responding to clinical deterioration, effectively initiating emergency escalation procedures (such as 2222 calls or medical emergency team interventions) with speed, precision, and composure.
Essential Requirements & Professional Qualifications

Valid NMC Registration: Must be a fully qualified Adult Nurse holding a current, active, and unrestricted registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) with zero restrictions on practice.

A satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check registered with the update service (or willingness to undergo a fresh clearance) is mandatory.
