Functional Skills Tutor – Runcorn
Location: Runcorn
Hours: 5-15 hours per week
Start Date: September 2026
Duration: Ongoing
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Functional Skills Tutor to provide 1:1 educational support to a learner in Runcorn.
This opportunity is suited to an educator who can work at the learner's pace, break down difficult concepts and create purposeful sessions that help them develop practical academic skills.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver tailored Functional Skills tuition
Support development in Maths and/or English
Identify areas requiring additional support
Create structured and accessible lessons
Adapt sessions to the learner's individual needs
Encourage engagement and confidence
Monitor progress and provide appropriate feedback
Requirements
Previous experience delivering Functional Skills tuition
Strong knowledge of Maths and/or English
Teaching or tutoring experience
Experience supporting young people
Excellent communication skills
Patient and adaptable approach
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
Right to Work in the UK
Two professional child-related references
